The roots of Danmc Bank were planted in 1888 in Florida, Miami,when banking was limited to the community in which you lived. Back then, the Florida Legislature prohibited the issuing of state bank charters, which meant banks had to either get a national charter or work as a “private bank”—a bank opened to serve a community, with no official charter. Danmc Bank opened as the latter - Trent State Bank, with $4,168.61 in deposits and a stock amount of $11,499.50. That status changed 20 years later in 1908 when the FL State Legislature passed a law making state charters available for all banks. Trent State Bank applied for and was granted Charter No. 369—the charter is still in use today.
